Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

BTA Sports is committed to making btasports.io usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, speech recognition software, or reduced-motion settings.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time project. As we ship new features, we re-test the pages those features touch.

Conformance Status

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as our standard, and we target Level AA. Level AA includes all Level A requirements.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the content meets the standard, but some parts do not yet. The known gaps are listed below, and we are actively working on them.

Measures We Have Taken

  • Semantic structure. Every page uses real landmark elements — <nav>, <main>, <footer> — with a single <h1> and a heading outline that never skips a level.
  • Skip navigation. A "Skip to content" link is the first item reachable by keyboard on every page.
  • Keyboard access. All navigation, buttons, tabs, and the video dialog can be operated without a mouse. Tab panels support arrow-key navigation, and the video dialog traps focus and closes with Escape.
  • Visible focus. A high-contrast focus ring is applied to every interactive element that receives keyboard focus.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Color contrast. Body, supporting, and fine-print text meets the 4.5:1 minimum contrast ratio against its background.
  • Reduced motion. Background animation, marquees, scroll reveals, and auto-advancing content are disabled when your device requests reduced motion.
  • Native controls. We use real <a> and <button> elements rather than clickable containers, and use ARIA only where native HTML is insufficient.

Known Limitations

We want to be straightforward about where we currently fall short:

  • Video captions. Our product demo and announcement videos do not yet have synchronized captions or a full text transcript. This is our highest-priority accessibility item and captions are in production. In the meantime, every claim made in those videos is also available as text elsewhere on this site.
  • Third-party content. Some linked destinations — our blog, help center, app store listings, and partner sites — are operated by third parties, and we do not control their accessibility.
  • The BTA Sports mobile app. This statement covers the website. Accessibility work on the iOS and Android apps is tracked separately.

Assessment Approach

We evaluate this site using a combination of:

  • Automated scanning (axe DevTools and Chrome Lighthouse)
  • Programmatic contrast-ratio calculation across our color tokens
  • Manual keyboard-only testing of every interactive component
  • Manual screen-reader testing with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS

Automated tools alone cannot verify accessibility, so automated results are always followed by manual review.

If you encounter any barrier on this site, or need information from it in a different format, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as priority issues and aim to respond within 5 business days.

To help us reproduce the problem, it is useful (but not required) to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser plus assistive technology you were using.

Formal Complaints

If you contact us about an accessibility barrier and are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter through the U.S. Department of Justice at ada.gov/file-a-complaint.
